A friend of mine swears by this 21 day cleanse. I have seen her results, and so I said sure I'll give it a try!
We are in the middle of the holiday season and my pants are fitting a little more tighter than usual, (ok, I lie, way more than a little tighter) so the only thing I have to loose at this point is unwanted weight and inches anyways!
You basically are eating clean for 21 days as well as working out at least 30 mins a day; which I do in Crossfit. - No sugar other than natural sugars in your fruits, No alcohol, which isn't ideal with all of the Christmas parties, but do-able. Basically simple. EAT CLEAN.
With this cleanse I can still have up to 2 servings of Carbs a day, I'll take that as a plus any day! Paleo kicked my butt when I did the 30 day challenge I managed hanging on for 23 days, and then threw in the towel. It was a tad too strict for me, I saw amazing results! But much prefer a little looser diet.
So here I am on day 4 of my 21 days. I will be sticking this out for it's entirety, I am ready to reset for the new year and get a jump start on cleaning up my diet.
I was recently telling a friend I bust my butt in the gym, and am not toning the way I should be. I can work out 2 hours a day- or all day...but if you aren't eating correctly, none of that effort even matters! Sad, but true!
But,but, but wait! What about my sweets? What about my Sunday Funday mimosas with my friends?? (which really is an every week thing!)
It's ok! You can replace these things for 21 days and see where you are!! (I did mourn a little giving these 2 things up!)
It won't be easy, but press on! Plus...I will tell you a secret...
Meal Prep!
As soon as I am done with dinner dishes while the kids doing homework, I pack all my food for the next day so that way there are no excuses.
Eat things that are fulfilling! I start with a protein shake in the morning
When I snack I prefer something crunchy! I eat it slower, plus I feel full faster, here are some of my fav's:
Bell Pepper
Cucumber
Radishes! (yum!)
After lunch around 2 everyday I always want something sweet, a little pick me up- So I choose to eat a serving of fruit then. I also find that chewing gum takes that craving away.
For me I want to see results. To be able to achieve this in a healthy matter is simple really. And very easy to maintain. Eat fresh produce, chow down on lean meats, exercise and clear your mind! This is the example I want to be setting for my children!
So good luck to you if you decide to jump on the band wagon with me! We are all in this together, and everyone WILL have their struggles, just keep on swimming!

Back to Blogging!
A few years ago I started blogging on and off. The one that stuck was my running blog I started while training for my first FULL marathon. I enjoy writing things that I am passionate about! I kept up with it for a quite a long time, mostly so I could easily go back and remember all the high's and low's (because there are a ton involved in training!) I ended up running and finishing it on my birthday last year Oct 6th, (4:16, which I was SUPER pleased with!) But I never kept up long enough to even tell about it!
You know what happened?
LIFE!
I have gone through so many changes since October of last year.
The biggest was getting separated moving out on my own (for the very first time in my LIFE!) and starting the process of a divorce.
Hands down 2014 has been the HARDEST year for me.
I went from being a stay at home mom, to working full time. I went to paying my own rent, having a car payment, bills, bills, bills! Essentially I have grown up quick this last year! I have learned to juggle getting both kids to school, going to work all day, and getting my workout in (which for me is a priority, I can't function without it!) We moved up to Portland,OR from Sacramento,CA back in 2009. Having no family up here is tough, but I am so thankful for the network of friends I have up here, they are my support system! I love you guys.
All I can do is pick up, and keep my head held high through all the hurt, pain, and struggles.
I want to start blogging again on the things that are everyday life for me!
My kids!
My active Lifestyle - Crossfit has taken over! (and yes I'm here to talk about it, so you may want to back out now! You've been warned!) My running, yoga and zumba are on the back burner for now, but not for long, I miss my long runs!Dancing has always been apart of my life, so sometime soon I will try and fit at least 2 classes a week in! I am even toying with getting certified again! ...We will see!
My diet! If I am busting my buns in the box- I want to look like it!
So really, its just going to be a mash up of whatever!
2015 is almost here and I can't wait for a clean slate, and to begin new!
